Salazar, sem grandes dificuldades, consegue restabelecer a ordem em pouco tempo. Como alguns previram, não havia condições em Portugal para desencadear um movimento de características operárias insurreccionais contra o «Estado Novo». A excepção foi a Marinha Grande, não obstante as grandes limitações e dificuldades ali sentidas.
