The design of a chronology about one of the locations with one of the greatest historical links in Portugal requires a lot of study, dedication and years of research, even though its author is one of the greatest (if not the greatest) connoisseurs of his land.
The selection of dates and associated descriptions in this Study is based on publications published over the years and based on the selected printed sources, their authors give us the credibility of rigorous research based on documents, many of which are original. In a brief approach to this publication, we highlight some dates and contents, which we note with some more specific considerations.
The work begins in the 13th century and ends in our time. Over hundreds of pages, we can glimpse the historical itinerary of Paderne, starting with the evolution of the toponym from the time periods before the Muslim presence in the region until the reconquest, marking the 14th century with the donation of the Paderne castle by D. Dinis to the Master of the Order of Avis, Dom Lourenço Anes, on January 1, 1305.
