The indexes are prepared in alphabetical order based on the first name of the husband and wife and contain information relating to the names of both spouses and date of marriage. As a footnote, they also contain information regarding the parish of birth of each of the spouses, exemptions due to consanguinity and affinity and, in the case of marriages in which one of the bride and groom is a widower, information about the first spouse.

With the informative treatment carried out, this work allows us to have an idea of ​​the historical, social and populational development of the parish of Alcoutim and is, therefore, more than a simple tool to aid genealogy.
