This work is a study that is part of the 200 years of the Liberal Revolution.
In it, the dear reader will learn about the role played by the Algarve in the period marked by the French Revolution (1789) and the end of Vintismo (1822).
We will go back to the military campaigns in which the Algarve participated, in the diplomatic disputes in which Portugal, Great Britain, France and Spain were involved and the treaties signed by these countries.
Of the three French invasions, the Algarve only suffered directly the first (1807-1808), with all its list of shameful acts committed by the Napoleonic army, leading to the popular uprising against it.
The reader will learn about the province's degree of adherence to the Revolution of 1820, the electoral process for choosing deputies to the Constituent Cortes, its deputies, the content of its main interventions and its political-ideological positioning.
There will be no shortage of other issues of utmost importance in relation to the Algarve, namely its economic structure.
